In celebration of the second anniversary of deadbear studios, I’m offering some make your own meatster bunnies. The zombies were so popular I decided to offer astro zombies. You get to pick the colors for your figure. You can choose the color of the figure, the brain, the details on the brain, the gums, the teeth and the eye. This will be an open order release so they’ll be available all month and they’ll start shipping June 1st. The price will be $25 each and domestic postage is $5 for up to 4 figures. International postage is $15 for up to 4.

Sadly my shop won’t allow enough options to make them fully customizable, so you can order them direct via PayPal. Just PayPal to deadbeartoys@yahoo.com with the following info:

The mooncrow lives

This is a little personal project I’ve had on the backburner for a while. I have a dayjob that has nothing to do with art. It’s just the nature of the beast. In an effort to dress up my cube I asked my kids to draw some monsters for me, and they gladly obliged.

During a break one day I decided to redraw a few of them. There was one monster that my oldest included on a couple of drawings and after redrawing it I asked if she’d mind me making him into a figure. Of course she said I could. What kid wouldn’t want a monster they designed made into a toy?

With everything else going on I hadn’t had the time to work on it, but her birthday was quickly approaching. So I decided to surprise her by having it ready on her birthday. She had no idea I was working on it, but I kept getting bits of info out of her about it. He was called a mooncrow. Originally he was a bluecrow but I guess mooncrow was cooler. She wanted a silver one.

As with most things I do it came down to the wire, but the mooncrow was officially born on her birthday. She was quite excited and after some negotiations she agreed to let me offer him to the public, for a small fee.

Tonight at 8pm central the mooncrow will land in the shop. There will only be 10 available: 5 one offs and 5 gid white pearl. The designer gets a cut from each one sold, making her the youngest professional toy designer I know. There will be some other random bits in the shop as well. So pop over tonight and check them out.

Give a little love

Valentines is quickly approaching so I’m making my love pumps available again. Each resin figure stands close to 3 inches tall and comes bagged with a header. The classic red and black versions are back along with a new clear red version.

Please place your order by the 7th to ensure delivery by the 14th.

Labbit of the month

The follow up to my solo show “I LIKE TO EAT” is scheduled for next February. In an effort to get myself in the labbit making mood and help promote the show I’m releasing a new labbit each month. A limited quantity of each will be made and each design will be available for one month.

This month’s labbit is the hot cocoa labbit. Keep warm with a lovely cup of cocoa.

Cleaning out the studio

It’s a new year and I’m trying to tidy up a bit. So I’m going through my stockpile of leftover figures and customizing them. The shop will be updated regularly throughout the month with new one off customs. There are a handful up already and I’ll likely have at least 15 more ready this month.

So pop into the shop and blow some of that Christmas cash.

The shop is stocked with holiday goodies of all varieties. They make great stocking stuffers and will help Santa polish off those extra cookies. If your order is placed this week it should arrive just in time to get put under the tree.

For the second year in a row I’ve been asked to donate art to the FEESA art auction organized by cardboardspaceship. It’s a really good cause and there’s some great art up for auction. Most pieces have low starting bids and every penny helps.

The auctions run for 10 days. Go to eBay and search FEESA for all the auctions. Please bid, it can really make a difference.

Designercon

Sadly I will not be attending designercon this year. Thankfully my long lost brother Spankystokes offered to sell some of my figures at his booth. There will be 25 minis, a few customs and two one off ozos.

If you plan on attending designercon be sure you stop by booth 324. Along with my wares will be a ton of other cool toys. Get out and support some quality artists.

New erectus

Now that the first batch has finally shipped I have some new erectus in the shop. There’s a batch of ten that can be customized as you would like and there are 5 vampire erectus available. If the vampires are ordered by the 27th you’ll have them before Halloween.
